Volunteers Needed July 5 for Playground Expansion

Explorer Academy Inviting Volunteers to Help with Playground “Community Build Day” July 5
Posted on 06/29/2017

Explorer Academy, 2901 Saltwell Road in Huntington, West Virginia, is pleased to announce a “Community Build Day” for the installation of the second phase of the school’s playground, Wednesday, July 5, 2017 beginning at 8:00 AM.

The playground expansion is made possible thanks to grant from Dr. Pepper Snapple Group’s KaBOOM! Initiative (https://kaboom.org/).  Now that brand new equipment is on hand, the school’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is asking members of the community to “please help” them install it on the 5th.

There will be a variety of tasks to complete, big, small, and in between, and no specialized construction knowledge is required.

“All we need is people willing to help us out on this fun and exciting day,” says Ryan McKenzie, Explorer Academy Principal.  “If we have enough volunteers, we can put together this playground quickly so that it is ready for children to play on by the beginning of the school year. We'd be absolutely delighted if you could join us!”

For more information about Explorer Academy’s Community Build Day, or to simply let the PTA parents know you’re willing to come help them with the construction, please contact President Christy Woodall by email at c.woodall216@gmail.com.
